Now, SMSs can be projected on your contact lens

LONDON: Scientists have developed a new technology that allows electronic messages sent from mobile phones to be directly projected on to contact lens placed in the recipient's eyes. 

The technology, developed by Belgian researchers, allows information such as text messages from a mobile phone to the contact lenses. 

Ghent University's centre of micro-systems technology developed the spherical curved LCD display which can be embedded in contact lenses and handle projected images using wireless technology, The Telegraph reported. 

The new technology allows the whole curved surface of the lens to be used, unlike previous contact lens displays, which are limited to a few small pixels to make up an image. One application suggested by the researchers is a "one pixel, fully covered contact lens acting as adaptable sunglasses" . 

"This will never replace the cinema screen for films. But for specific applications it may be interesting to show images such as road directions or projecting text messages from our smart phones straight to our eye," said professor Herbert De Smet. 

आता, मोबाईल वरून पाठवण्यात येणाऱ्या एसमएस लेन्स द्वारे वाचू शकतो.

लंडन : तंत्रज्ञान क्षेत्रात दररोज काही होईल ह्याचा काही नेम नाही. ह्याच क्षेत्रात संशोधकांनी एक पाऊल पुढे ठेवत एक शोध लावला आहे. डोळ्यात लावण्यात येणाऱ्या लेन्स द्वारेच मोबाईल वरून पाठवण्यात येणाऱ्या एसमएस वाचू  शकणार आहे.

हे  तंत्रज्ञान  बेल्जियमच्या संशोधकांनी शोधले असून मोबाईल वरून पाठवलेले मेसेज थेट कॉन्टॅक्ट लेन्सवर पाहता येतात.घेंट विद्यापीठाच्या सेंटर ऑफ मायक्रो सिस्टीम टेक्नॉलॉजीने अर्धवर्तुळाकारएलसीडी डिस्प्ले तयार केला असून तो कॉन्टॅक्ट लेन्समध्ये बसविता येतो आणि वायरलेस तंत्रज्ञानाच्या सहाय्याने त्यावर इमेज दिसतात.

या नव्या तंत्र ज्ञाना मध्ये अर्धवर्तुळाकारएलसीडी डिस्प्ले हा  त्यामागील कॉन्टॅक्ट लेन्ससचा डिस्प्ले  लहान आकाराची इमेज बनवण्यासाठी सीमित आहे.सिनेमासाठी त्याचा पर्याय कधीच होऊ शकत नाही.  प्रोफेसर हर्बर्ट दे स्मार्ट यांच्या मते विशिष्ठ प्रयोगासाठी काही इमेज रस्त्याच्या दिशेने आपल्या स्मार्ट फोन मधून सीधा आपल्या डोळ्यांसमोर संदेश द्वारे आपल्या समोर परिवर्तीत होतील.
